Language learning tips

Small, focused habits for more confident everyday language.

Connect the word to its meaning

Look at the scene before reaching for a translation. Notice who is acting, which object is involved and where the action happens. Say the word while thinking about that meaning.

Listen with a purpose

Listen once for the meaning and again for the word order. Use slower playback for difficult phrases, then return to normal speed. Repeat aloud rather than only replaying the audio.

Use mistakes as a next step

Read the specific correction, say the corrected sentence and try again. Speech recognition can mishear you; its output is not a judgement of your ability. Ask the lesson tutor when a grammar pattern is unclear.
